BTC BULLETIN ADVERTS

As Bull Terrier lovers, most of us get very excited about the history bequeathed to us from the breed enthusiasts of yester-year. We smile at old Bull Terrier Club Bulletins with shots of ‘The greats’ adorning the antiquity of the front covers, inside which are filled with wonderful images, articles and ads. We, right now, are the future history of our beautiful breed, so why not secure a piece of that history by advertising your kennel in this year’s bulletin? You’ll be presenting your dogs to the enthusiasts of today, while ensuring that the generations of tomorrow get to see them too… To place your ad in this year’s Bulletin (a year that will certainly go down in history!), please contact Hon. Editor Rita Sinclair via 07879 626 777 or [email protected]

BTC Trophy Show 2021

Dear Members, Friends, Exhibitors and Visitors,

After much consideration the Officers and Committee of The Bull Terrier Club regret to announce that Trophy Show scheduled for February 2021 has been cancelled.

The planning for the show starts the moment the previous years show ends and with that The Club has a considerable financial out lay as the Show draws ever closer. Given the Government/Kennel Club guidelines on the management of a show under the current conditions, a dog show becomes difficult to manage and run with the restrictions placed on us all. This continues to change frequently and is a major challenge which is apparent by the large number of shows to date being cancelled.

As you would expect, we have been monitoring the situation closely and have been in consultation with the Hotel we use to host our event and at the time of writing they can only host an event with 30 or less attendees.

A proportion of our guests are from overseas and it is anticipated that there will be a large number of guests who will be reluctant to travel to the UK or indeed may not be permitted to. Equally those based in the UK may also not be able to attend.

Taking everything into consideration this difficult decision has been taken in order to protect everyone’s health, safety and wellbeing.

We hope you recognise that the safety of all our guests is paramount and hope you appreciate the reason for our decision.

We wish you all the greatest of health and hope to see you all soon in the near future.

Kennel Club statement: Cancellation of Discover Dogs 2020

With regret, the Kennel Club must announce the cancellation of this year’s Discover Dogs event, planned to take place in London in October. This is due to the continued restrictions arising from the Covid-19 pandemic and current Government advice against staging large public gatherings such as indoor exhibitions. At present, there is no prospect of these restrictions being lifted in the timescale required to organise the event.

The Kennel Club takes the health, safety and security of everyone who takes part in its events very seriously and this must remain the prime consideration at all times. We shall look forward to welcoming you all to Discover Dogs next year.

Mr Terry Hylands (Terjo)

It is with the greatest of sadness that we announce the passing of Mr Terry Hylands.

Terry passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday the 27th June with Josephine and his family by his side.

Terry served for many years as a Committee member, Chairman and President of the club.

Terry will be greatly missed as our good friend, guide and mentor.

Terry’s funeral mass took place on Tuesday 30th June and can be watched on St MacNissi Parish Church Larne Facebook page.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Josephine and all of Terry’s family at this sad time.
